Organizing a corporate event is stressful and provides a unique set of challenges.
Hi, I’m Michael “Sandini” Piacente and I understand these challenges.
I have been involved in magic since 1979 as a part time professional but most importantly I have been an insurance executive in the corporate world for over 30 years. Through out those years, I have had the opportunity to do “booth duty” both as a member of the booth team and as a magic entertainer drawing in traffic. I know what works. Many magicians advertise that do everything from children parties and up. I focus on the corporate world. So, if you want a child’s birthday party I can refer you to some of the best but if you want to maximize sales call me.
I am an active member of the Society of American Magicians Westchester Assembly no. 194 in Westchester County, NY. In 1989 he received the SETH COHEN AWARD FOR MAGIC. Until recently only two other members of Assembly 194 has achieved this award in it’s 25 plus year history. In 2007, I was awarded the first Pino Gareri Magician of the Year Award and in December 2008, the Society of American Magicians presented me with a Presidential Citation for work in magic.
Besides some of the credits under Partial List of Appearances, I was an instructor of magic to both adults and children since 1981 at various schools. A partial list includes White Plains Adult Education, Greenwich Adult Education, Scarsdale High and the Barnard School in New Rochelle. He has also been a mentor since 1990 working closely with The Society of Young Magicians Assembly no. 42 in Stamford, CT.

TRADE SHOW MAGIC & ENTERTAINMENT The exhibit hall opens and you are ready to go. You have your corporate giveaways, business cards and the handout materials that describe your great insurance product. Attendees are walking past your booth, picking up those giveaway pens and maybe one in twenty stops to talk to you. You look up the next aisle and XYZ Insurance Company; one of your major competitors has a crowd like it was the Super Bowl. You get closer and you discover that they have a magician entertaining them. Does this look or sound familiar? Hi, my name is Michael J. Piacente. In the New York tri-state area, I am known as Sandini the Magician. I have been performing magic and entertaining since 1981. YOU WANT ME FOR YOUR NEXT TRADE SHOW! QUESTION: Why Magic? ANSWER: Many articles have been written stating that live demonstrations, in particular, magic is the most effective form of professional attention getting at trade shows. By delivering your company’s message in an entertaining way, it allows your sales force to chat with more people and that translates into more sales opportunities. QUESTION: How will you work in our booth? ANSWER: Good question! Your booth would not be cluttered with all kinds of magic equipment. It’s me, a deck of cards, some coins, and maybe a sword and a lot of laughs and smiles on the attendees that pass the booth. I would normally perform for around 10 minutes every half-hour. At the end of each performance, your sales force will have plenty of time to mingle and chat with the attendees. Also my patter ( that’s magic talk for sales pitch ) will include the name of you company and / or product. QUESTION: What else could you offer? ANSWER: Something that has caught on in many corporations is to have a magician teach magic to the sales force that they can be used in presentations. As a broker, I have done this at presentations, at dinner and lunch meetings with clients. This is a good icebreaker as it relaxes the client and prospect. As to the teaching experience, I have been teaching magic to adults in adult education courses since 1981 at various schools such as White Plains High School, Scarsdale High School, both in New York and Greenwich High School in Connecticut.
